Majority Hunter is excited to welcome an extremely valuable addition to the team, Mikenley Heller, as our new Executive Director.
Ever the passionate politico, Mikenley decided to pursue a degree in political science from Texas Christian University. While Mikenley had always envisioned herself going to law school, her plans changed after an internship with the Texas GOP turned into a full-time gig. Mikenley quickly realized that she was ready to get to work furthering the conservative agenda.
As Majority Hunter’s Executive Director, Mikenley is excited to help political operatives take the next step in their political career. Since Mikenley knows what it’s like to graduate from college and not know where to start, she’s excited to help new graduates find their dream job and set them up for a successful future in the political field.
We all know that whether you work on the campaign trail or for a political vendor, working in politics tends to get hectic no matter what. Luckily for Mikenley, she thrives under pressure and seems to work better on her most hectic days. She takes pride in helping other people and making the job hunt less stressful for others.
Mikenley has a lot to look forward to when it comes to her new role. Mikenley is ready to break new ground and expand opportunities for Majority Hunter operatives at every level. Mikenley and her team have a clear mission in mind for Majority Hunter – change the way political operatives get hired and train politicos across the country to be stronger staffers.
Even though working in the political world can be exciting and rewarding, nobody said it was easy. Mikenley’s advice to political newbies is to not be afraid to take a position at the bottom of the political ranks, such as a Field Organizer or Canvasser. She stresses that it’s extremely important to learn and network as much as you can as you are building your way up in order to get a thorough understanding of how campaigns run their ground game.
Mikenley believes that the sole reason she’s been so successful in her career thus far is that she has not been afraid to tackle any role and position in the political sphere. She has built many valuable relationships along the way that have helped shape the person and career woman she is today.
